A book of vintage Emile Mercier cartoons depicting an Australian way of life long past.

Emile Mercier (1901-1981) drew cartoons for the Sydney newspaper "The Sun" from 1949 to his retirement in 1968. Following his death, his son Michael decided to donate the cartoons of his father to the National Cartoon Gallery (in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales) for future preservation.

The selection of cartoons within this book were chosen by some modern-day Australian cartoonists, academics, and ordinary Australians.

Those chosen will make you laugh at some of the funniest cartoons by a master creative, and will leave you contemplating his accurate depictions of an Australia long past.
