Our favorite pretend princess, Angelica, aka Jelly, is back! A case of mistaken identity, a wild imagination and a love of storytelling leads Jelly to tell her friend Joon and the new kid she’s just met, Leo, that she’s a part-time lion trainer at the local animal rescue center. Her inventiveness has them completely convinced, but things get a bit more complicated when the resident lioness, Mwezi, escapes from her enclosure and the kids look to Jelly’s “expertise” to save the day.

    Review

Angelica, also known as Jelly, is now a part-time lion trainer! When a young boy comes up to her at the animal rescue centre and asks if she is the lion trainer, Jelly decides to do what she does best: use her imagination!

Soon she has the young boy asking her every question imaginable about lions and being a lion trainer. Even her friend Joon, whom she met at camp, believes her. However, when Mwezi, the local lioness, goes missing from her enclosure the story is busted.

The rescue centre goes into lock down, but as it turns out, Jelly’s extensive knowledge about lions ends up saving the day. She locates Mwezi and brings her back to her enclosure.

Her heroism is rewarded with a plaque on Mwezi’s enclosure and an official volunteer position as a part-time lion trainer!

A quick and entertaining read that teaches children that lying is never the right thing choice.
